AXA Group is a French insurance and investment group of companies. One of the largest in the world, classified as systemically important for the world economy. The company is headquartered in Paris, France.


The main activity of the AXA group is insurance, of € 103 billion in revenue in 2018 € 96.6 billion came from insurance premiums, including € 57.7 billion from life insurance and savings deposits and € 39 billion from property insurance and other types insurance and reinsurance.

France — turnover in 2018 amounted to € 25.2 billion, assets € 225 billion;
Europe — insurance services in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium and Spain; turnover € 36.7 billion, assets € 275 billion;

The geography of activity is very wide; the home market accounts for 21% of the turnover, Western and Central Europe — 35%, the USA — 14%, Asia — 17%.

The number of employees at the end of 2016 was 97,700 people, about 165,000 in total with insurance agents. Intermediaries such as brokers and independent financial advisors play a significant role in the distribution of insurance and investment products; on average, they account for about half of sales (in Belgium — 100%).

Income tax paid for the 2018 financial year amounted to € 1.364 billion (in 2017 — € 1.083 billion). In 2017, the company was ranked 9th among the largest investment companies in the world in terms of assets under management ($ 1.73 trillion). In the list of the largest public companies in the world Forbes Global 2000, AXA Group took 85th place, including 33rd in terms of turnover, 382nd in net profit, 28th in terms of assets and 164th in terms of market capitalization.
